The Advisory Opinion was drafted in French and English (the Court’s two official languages), the French text being authoritative The Opinion having been requested by the United Nations General
Assembly, it has been translated by the UN Secretariat into the
Organisation’s other four official languages (Arabic,
Chinese,
Russian
and Spanish).
